T. and J. Worsley, hat makers of Stockport

1794 Samuel Oldknow sold his mill on Upper Hillgate, Stockport to William Radcliffe of Mellor.[1]

At a later stage, Worsley's occupied the mill, where they made hats on commission for the London market.

1826 Christy and Co took over Worsley's factory in Stockport, establishing the foundations of what became England's leading hat-making firm.
