Wine and spirits merchants, whisky blenders, of Darlington

1808 The business was established by Thomas Pease. Its head office was in the Market Place, Darlington but it also had offices in Leith and London

1875 The firm brought a 1,000 gallon cask of brandy from France, reputedly the largest ever imported to the UK

1908 The company received an order for its signature blended whisky, BOS (Blended Old Scotch), from the House of Lords. This mark of distinction was used in its advertising thereafter

1995 The company, by now trading as Pease and Wrightson plc, went into liquidation
