1892. "Yesterday Mr. T. A. Edge of Manchester established a record by riding on a bicycle from the London General Post Office to the Liverpool General Post Office in 14 hours 33 minutes 35 seconds. This is the fastest this journey has been accomplished by considerably more than two hours." [1]
1892. LEJOG record. 'Mr T. A. Edge, who started from Land's End on Monday morning at 6 o'clock, reached John O'Groats on his bicycle yesterday morning at 6.40, thus having covered the distance in four days and 40 minutes. This beats Mr. G. P. Mills's record by 10 hours and 37 minutes. He returns to Land's End and thence to London.' [2]
1895 "Land's End to John O'Groats Cycling Record. G. P. Mills and T. A. Edge, on a tandem bicycle, yesterday completed their long ride and established a new record, beating Mills's single safety time by 1 hour 3 minutes. The time occupied in the journey was 3 days 4 hours and 46 minutes." [3]
1896. "Partnerships Dissolved. T. A. Edge and R. H. Carlisle proprietors of a cycling and athletic paper known as the 'Cycler's News', Manchester under the style of Edge and Carlisle." [4]
1896. "T. A. Edge, of Manchester will start this morning in his attempt at the 1,000 miles bicycle record. The machine he will use right through is geared to 70 in., and weighs complete some 24lb or 25lb." [5]
1896. "T. A. Edge, although unsuccessful in improving the time for the ride from Land's End to John o'Groats, yesterday completed his 1,000 miles and beat the previous best time by 14 hours. He covered the distance in four days nine hours and 19 minutes." [6]
In later years he appears to have been closely involved in horse racing.
