1928 Matlow Brothers Ltd. founded in London by Alfred and Maurice Matlow.[1]

1933 The company formed an alliance with David Dee, manufacturer of Swizzels sweets.[1]

1940 The London Blitz forced both companies to move North. New premises were found in a disused lamp wick mill in New Mills.[1]

1971 Received the Queen's Award to Industry for Export Achievement.[1]

1975 Company renamed Swizzels Matlow.[1]
