1975 Sterling Organics Ltd is a division of the Sterling-Winthrop Group Ltd, manufacturing bulk pharmaceuticals, and fine, organic chemicals on two sites at Fawdon (??) and at Dudley.[2]

1992 Sterling Organics, a division of Sanofi-Winthrop DUDLEY, CRAMLINGTON, NORTHUMBERLAND[3]

1994 "The name has changed to Sanofi Winthrop but the French company that took on the Alnwick drug research centre back in October is no stranger to the 230 staff based there."[4]

1995 "buy-out for Sterling Organics: the biggest ever management buy-out in the North-East was sealed in the early hours of yesterday morning. French group Sanofi sold Sterling Organics, based in Dudley, Cramlington for £40M"[5]
