1937 Died. 'Mr. Stephen S. Barrett, Head of Ryburndale Paper Mills for many years: The death ocurred early this morning, after an illness lasting almost 12 months, of Mr. Stephen S. Barrett, Rybumdale, Ripponden, managing director of Ryburndale Paper Mills, Co., Ltd., Ripponden. Mr. Barrett, who would have been 64 years of age in a fortnight's time was the youngest son of the late Mr. W. H. Barrett, for many years a prominent public representative in Ryburn Valley. He started work with the Paper Mills Company as a young man, and rose to the responsible position of managing director. While he held that position, trade was considerably extended. He was a director of Stones Cotton Mill, Ripponden, from the formation of the firm, over 30 years ago....'[1]
