1943 Steels Engineering Products Ltd was incorporated, a subsidiary of Steel and Co, which included Henry J. Coles Cranes.

1959 Took over F. Taylor and Sons of Manchester who developed a totally hydraulic crane.

1959 Acquired R. H. Neal and Co Ltd of Grantham who were producing units using diesel-mechanical drive systems.

1961 Mechanical handling, agricultural and general engineers.[1]

1964 Change of name to British Crane and Excavator Corporation Ltd which included the 3 UK factories.
