1929 Examples of electrically-welded engineering structures. These included an alternator stator casing (see illustration) and bedplate for C. A. Parsons and Co. Note the economical arrangement for rotating the casing to optimise the position for welding, using the bolt-on trunnions normally used during winding operations.[4]
Produced welded steel structures for Davey, Paxman and Co oil engines for 'S' class submarines, under the patents of C. H. Stevens, of the Steel Barrel Company. See illustration[5]
1932 Company incorporated to acquire the business of similar name
1936 It was one of the largest and complete organisations involved in the manufacture of steel plate products of all types of steel. Incorporated in a new company, Steel Barrel Scammells and Associated Engineers[6]
1941 Subsidiary company of Steel Barrel Scammells and Associated Engineers Ltd[7]
1965 The company closed; existing orders were dealth with by other companies in the group, namely Carrimore Six Wheelers, Anthony Hoists and Midland Tipper Services[8]
