1915 Simms Motor Units establised a subsidiary, the Standard Insulator Co.

1926 Moved into half of the Simms factory at East Finchley[1]

1928 Simms Motor Units acquired the 75 percent of the company that it didn't already own[2]. Standard Insulator made vulcanite components for the Simms magnetos; also sold enamelled wire, wireless components and other electrical items to which it had sole rights in the UK.

1937 Manufacturers of varnished insulating sleeving and hose clips. "Electroflex" Insulating Sleeving. "Mueller" Battery or Test Clips. "Standard" Universal Hose Clips.

1954 of Camberley, Surrey. Maker of moulded rubber grommets and hose clips; also Standard Loyd auto rotary sickle for control of vegetation[3]
