Eventually a 12.5 mile line from Stamford to Wansford

1853 The company was incorporated.

1856 The first 4 mile part (Stamford to Essendine) was opened in 1856

1867 The line was finally opened to Wansford in 1867. [1]

1908 The line is 12.5 miles in length and is worked by the Great Northern Railway. [2]

1923 Became part of London and North Eastern Railway. [3]
