St. Mary's Foundry (Montreal)
1816 Joseph Lough formed a partnership with partners Joseph Wildgoose, Thomas Mears and Jahaziel Sherman to erect an air furnace on a site by St. Lawrence River. Lough was described by a contemporary as "an Englishman, [who] had lived in the States and married an American wife, he was a very clever man ... and employed quite a large number."
