1960 In order to allow Norcros to concentrate on its larger subsidiaries, a new company, Southcros Ltd was incorporated and floated, to handle the smaller companies in the portfolio and others which would have resulted in Norcros having too large a concentration in one industry[1]. 1960 Acquired Anderton Springs, together with its associated company Dee-Kay Engineering Co[2], also Brett Daniels, Frigidaire dealers in North London[3], and Ward Brooke and Co, manufacturers of aircraft electrical components.[4]

1961 Acquired Dowell Hissett, metal finishing specialists[5], Wigan Richardson Cold Stores[6] and D. S. Fordyce and Co maker of machinery for the laundry and dry cleaning trades[7]. By the AGM in July had 9 subsidiaries[8]

1963 Acquired Norvic Electric (Acton)[9]
