South Wales Steel and Tinplate Works, Llanelli

1872 A tinplate works was opened at this location.

1879-80 two open-hearth furnaces were erected, making this the first integrated steel and tinplate works in Llanelli.

1899 The site was purchased by Richard Thomas and Co.

1911 Richard Thomas and Co extended the mill with the addition of eight new mills to the existing ten.

1958 The site closed .
