1878 'South Staffordshire Waterworks Co. have now completed the connection of their pipes, to enable them to supply water to about 650 houses'[1]
1918 Fred J. Dixon appointed chief engineer is succession to Mr Ashton Hill.[2]

1971 Engineer-in-Chief is Randal H. Taylor.[4]
1972 Engineer-in-Chief is James Lamont.[5]
1989 South Staffordshire Water PLC was established as one of the privatised water-only supply companies
1997 'I understand that South Staffordshire Waterworks Co have recently sold their site at Sandfields, Chesterfield Road. On that site is a superb example of an 1871 Cornish Beam Engine, partly preserved. This huge engine is set in the original pump warehouse'[6]
