1909 Illustrated description of steam plant at Greenvale Mill (Littleborough), owned by the Sladen Wood Mill Company. The mill was electrically driven, and the motors supplied with current from a 500 kW Brush-Parsons turbo-alternator. The plant replaced a pair of compound condensing beam-engines of 400 indicated horse-power, as well as a quantity of mill-gearing and two boilers.[1]
