1955 An American company opened a wholly-owned subsidiary: Cobble Brothers Machinery

1960 The American parent was taken over by Singer; the subsidiary became Singer-Cobble.

British Tufting Machinery of Blackburn was also absorbed by Singer

1964 Edgar Pickering left Singer-Cobble to form Edgar Pickering (Blackburn), making tufting machinery and ancillary equipment.
