1897 Partnership and name change. '...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned John Simpson, Gabriel Looker Davies and Robert Newton Davies, carrying on business as Merchants at Bank-chambers Runcorn in the county of Chester and 16 South Castle-street in the city of Liverpool under the style or firm of Simpson, Davies and Sons has been dissolved by mutual consent as and from the 31st day of March 1897. The business will in future be carried on by the said Gabriel Looker Davies and Robert Newton Davies at 'Bank-chambers Runcorn and 16 South Castle-street Liverpool aforesaid under the same style or firm of Simpson, Davies and Sons....'[2]
