Silvertown Gasworks

1864 The Victoria Docks Gas Co built a works at Silvertown, on the south side of Factory Road; it had a wharf on the River Thames and was connected to the railway; the earlier North Woolwich gasworks, on the north side of Factory Road, was closed.

1908 The greater portion of the Silvertown Gasworks were offered for sale by the Gas Light and Coke Co; the riverside site was close to the Royal Albert and Victoria Docks and next to Tate and Lyle's refinery[1]
