1908 The Shropshire, Worcestershire and Staffordshire Electric Power Co was incorporated, including the Shropshire and Worcestershire Electric Power Co
1923 Started construction of Stourport Electric Power Station
1924 Carried out experiments with an electrically-powered canal boat on a short stretch of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal in Kidderminster using a 250v DC overhead supply.[1][2]
By 1927 supplied electricity to Oldbury and Smethwick, the industrial areas of Halesowen, Dudley, Kidderminster, Redditch, as well as the towns of Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Upton-on-Severn, and many villages.
Stations at Smethwick and Redditch; had also acquired stations at Dudley, Kidderminster, Ludlow and Tewkesbury.
1927 Opened new station at Stourport, which would in time replace the older stations.
c.1930 Acquired South Wales Electrical Power Distribution Co
1948 Nationalised[3]
