1900 The company was registered on 27 October, to acquire undertakings of the Shrewsbury and Talbot S. T. Cab and Noiseless Tyre Co (carrying on the business only of carriage tyre, manufacturers), and the Challiner and Willoughby Carriage Tyre Co. [1]. The new Company will retain all its
old officials, the Earl of Shrewsbury remaining as chairman, the other
directors being Messrs. Wilson, Burch, and Willoughby, who will act
in conjunction with Messrs. Howard Unwin and Challiner as managing
directors, the latter taking charge of Manchester, Mr. Unwin being at
the London works.[2]
1925 Acquired by Dunlop Rubber Co[3] as part of its strategy to broaden its business into general rubber goods trade.
