Professor Shiomo Frank ( -1965)

1965 Obituary [1]

Professor Shlomo Frank, Dipl Ing (Member), died in July at the age of 63.

Educated in Germany, Prof. Frank received his practical training with companies specialising in the manufacture of steam engines, pumps and compressors. He also worked as an apprentice with Hansa Motor Cars.

He went to Palestine in 1933 and, after a number of jobs connected with water and electrical services, he joined the then Hebrew Technical Institute at Haifa in 1939. At the time of his death he was Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Institute, now named the Technion.

A brilliant teacher, Professor Frank was the author of many papers and books on heat engines. He was a good friend to this Institution and we shall miss his advice and help.
