... a drawing of the "Experiment" made by Mr Thomas Turner in 1834, a copy of which was in the possession of Mr James Dunlop during 1923 and was published by him in The Engineer of July 2nd, 1920 and is reproduced in the image at right differed in many material respects from the Irish engines. The vertical cylinders were placed with their tops on a level with the frames between the four wheels, and not above the leading wheels at the sides of the boiler. An extremely large dome casing near the middle of the boiler barrel served not only to contain the dome, but also housed the vertical exhaust pipe, which entered a chimney placed on the top of the dome casing."[1]
