Sculcoates Bridge

Sculcoates Bridge, Kingston-Upon-Hull.

Also known as Chapman Street Bridge, an iron swing bridge carrying Chapman Street over the River Hull. Opened on 9th January 1875.

Designed by J. Fox Sharpe. Ironwork by the Bridge and Roofing Co of Darlaston. Masonry by Simpson and Malone of Hull.

Described in 'The Engineer' in 1875[1]

The bridge remains in use, at least as a footbridge.
