1928 Company incorporated to consolidate the fertiliser and feedstuffs industry in Scotland, to acquire[1]:

Chairman was Sir Harry McGowan. The merging companies were under contract to sell to ICI a majority of shares in the new company.

Between 1936 and 1947 controlling interests were acquired in 13 more businesses engaged in agricultural merchanting, the implements or seeds trade, or the manufacture of compound fertilisers or animal feeding stuffs.

1963 Sold its subsidiary Scottish Rural Gas to Calor Gas[2]

1988 Transferred to ICI Chemicals and Polymers Ltd
