Nelson Road, Salisbury

Cast iron arch road bridge across the River Avon. Originally carried the railway over Castle Street. Moved by T. Scamell in 1898, who attached a cast iron plaque on the pavement side of each parapet. One is lighter than the other, due to a missing letter in one word!

Castings made by Joseph Butler and Co of Stanningley, Leeds, in 1857.
