1836 Advert: 'VALUABLE MACHINERY, DIES, &c. FOR SALE OR HIRE.
To Frying-pan Makers, Wire Drawers, &c.
To be SOLD by private Contract, or LET at an annual rental, all the celebrated and valuable MACHINERY erected by Mr. Edward Biggs and Mr. Baldwin, and now used by Messrs. Bacchus, Green, and Co. at Deritend Mills, consisting of Rolls, Stamps, Dies, &c. for the commencing and manufacturing complete Frying-pans, Rolls for drawing Frying-pan Iron from the bar for the die, Blocks sufficient for drawing upwards of 250 bundles of thick and fine Iron Wire per week, capital Press for piercing Fenders, &c. This is an opportunity for capitalists to embark in either the Frying-pan Trade or Wire Drawing which rarely occurs, all the Machinery for carrying on each business is now in full work, and may be taken to as it stands; and the present proprietor of this extensive and excellent Machinery will sell it at a tenth of its cost of erection, or let it a low rental for a term of years, altogether or for either trade separately, with Steam Engine of 22- horse power.
