Sir Samuel Richard Beale (1881–1964), engineer and industrialist

1881 Born Kensington, London, son of James Samuel (solicitor) and Margaret Beale[1]

Educated at Marlborough and Trinity College Cambridge; degree in engineering

1905 Having been an apprentice with L. Sterne and Co, Crown Ironworks, Glasgow, he was appointed Acting manager; proposed to the I Mech E[2]

1908 Managing director of L. Sterne and Co, later becoming chairman

1935 Chairman and managing director of Guest, Keen and Nettlefolds

1946/47 Retired from the directorships

1964 Died
