1848 William Henry Miller MP, cousin of Miller Christy died a bachelor. He left entrusted property in England and Scotland, including his library at Britwell Court, to his cousin Sarah Marsh, with whom he resided. From her the estate passed to Miller Christy's grandson Samuel Christy, Liberal-Conservative Member for Newcastle-under-Lyme, 1847-59.[3]
1861 Samuel Christy Esq chaired a meeting of the [{Society of Arts]] on the Hudson's Bay Territories[4]
1862 Took the name and arms of Miller.
1889 Samuel Christie-Miller died at Burtwell Court, Burnham[5]
