The Graphic was a British weekly illustrated newspaper.

1869 First published on December the 4th 1869 by William Luson Thomas with his brother Lewis Samuel Thomas (d. 1872).

1889 Thomas and his company H. R. Baines and Co began publishing the first daily illustrated newspaper, called The Daily Graphic. He hoped that illustrated news would inspire people to campaign against various evils in Victorian society, such as poverty and crime.

1900 When Thomas died, his company H.R. Baines & Co. was run by his son, Carmichael Thomas.

1932 The Graphic was published under this title and The National Graphic until 1932 when publication ceased. [1]
