Ruths Steam Accumulator Co
of Scotland Street, Glasgow
1924 The company was formed in April 1924 for the purpose of marketing in the British Empire the steam accumulator invented by Dr. Johannes Ruths, Director of the Aktiebolaget Vaporackumulator, Stockholm. By the terms of the licence all plants for that market were to be made in Britain.
The accumulators were described in some detail in Engineering [1]
1924 the controlling interest in Ruths Steam Accumulator Co, was acquired by the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Co and James Howden and Co of Glasgow. [2]
1928 NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 188 of the Companies (Consolidation) Act, 1908, that a Meeting of the creditors of Ruths Steam Accumulators Ltd will be held at Africa House, Kingsway, London, W.C. 2, on Thursday, the 5th day of July, 1928, at 12.30 o'clock in the afternoon, for the purposes provided for in the said section. It has yet to be established whether there was any commercial connection with Ruths Steam Storage Ltd.
