Designed to be a high-performance version of the F.E.2b two-seater fighter-reconnaissance aircraft.

Powered by a 200 hp Hispano-Suiza engine it was a pusher design with two Lewis guns - one forward and the other backward.

The first plane was completed in April 1917 and was flown by Roderic Maxwell Hill

Three aircraft built.
