Royal Aircraft Factory: Aerial Target
Note: This is a sub-section of Royal Aircraft Factory.
Radio-controlled pilotless plane for attacks on Zeppelins and as a flying bomb.
Six examples were built. First flights were on 6th July 1917 at Northolt but all sorts of problems were experienced.
The project was briefly resurrected in 1920.
