1912 Mechanics' Machine Company sold their line of drill presses to Rockford Drilling Machine Company and focused on manufacturing auto parts.

1928 The Mechanics' Machine Company became a founding division of Borg-Warner Corporation.

1929 Borg-Warner bought out Rockford Drilling Machine Company.

1945 The name of Rockford Drilling Machine Company was changed to the Rockford Clutch Division of Borg-Warner.
