1861 Living at Bridge Street, Thrapston: Robert Smith (age 41 born Kettering), Agricultural Implement Manufacturer employing 20 men and 6 boys. With his wife Catherine Smith (age 41 born Stamford) and their three sons; David G. Smith (age 41 born Stamford), Engine Smith; Frederick N. Smith (age 41 born Stamford); and Robert F. Smith (age 41 born Stamford). Also his sister-in-law Frances Gregory (age 32 born Stamford), Unmarried. Note: Three adjoining houses in Bridge Street with Robert Smith, Nathaniel Smith and Henry Smith[1]
