Robert Iltyd Nicholl
Robert Iltyd Nicholl of Fox and Nicholl
Born Bridgend, 29th December, 1896.
Educated at Eton, and Christ Church, Oxford.
1920 Served apprenticeship with Wolseley Motors. On the acquisition of the Wolseley Co. by Morris Motors, formed partnership with A. W. Fox, Manager at the Wolseley Repair Works.
Built first Filling station on the Kingston by-Pass Road.
From 1929 they became interested in Motor Racing and took part as entrants and Managers in numerous races in Britain and on the Continent, winning many racing Trophies.
In 1937 enlarged the firm's premises to undertake Sheet Metal work. During the war undertook rearmament programme.
In 1951 sold part of premises, used during the war. Retained Showrooms, Workshops, and Filling Station.
Upon the death of father in 1935 gave up active participation in the running of Firm, but is still Director.
1953 Interests : Landowner and Farmer.
