ROBERT HAIRE, born on the 31st July, 1837, at Maguiresbridge, county Fermanagh, died at Dublin on the 22nd December, 1909.

Graduating from Queen’s College, Belfast, he was trained under Mr. James Barton, of Dundalk.

After short engagements on railways and harbours in Ireland, Portugal, South Africa and other countries he served 16 years, from 1880 to 1896, as an engineer under the Commissioners of Public Works, Ireland.

Latterly he was employed by the Local Government Board as an arbitrator.

He was elected a Member on the 3rd May, 1881.
