Robert George Laing Burn (1858-1936) of Burn and Baillie and later Burn Brothers
Born the son of Archibald Burn, a Plumber.
1871 Living at 60 Frederick Street, Edinburgh: Archibald Burn (age 61 born Edinburgh), Plumber employing 20 men and 11 boys. With his wife Margaret Burn (age 41 born Edinburgh) and their six children; Thomas A. Burn (age 15); Margaret S. I. Burn (age 14); Robert G. L. Burn (age 12 born Edinburgh); John David Burn (age 11); Lewis A. Burn (age 9); and Archibald W. Burn (age 6).[1]

With his wife Margaret, daughter Margaret and sons Robert Burn (age 23 born Edinburgh), Plumber; John Burn (age 21 born Edinburgh), Brassfinisher; Lewis Burn (age 19 born Edinburgh), Engineer's Draughtman; and Henry Burn (age 8 born Edinburgh).[2]
