Darlington Loses Factory Veteran
Mr. Robert Bradley Summerson who died at his home, Hall Garth, Coatham Mundeville, near Darlington, yesterday, was chairman of Thomas Summerson and Sons, Ltd., railway plant manufacturers, Albert Hill Foundry, Darlington, with whom he had been associated 70 years. He would have been 85 on January 30 and was a remarkably active man for his age. Mr Summerson was the oldest member of Darlington Horse and Dog Show Society, and was president in 1938.
For 16 years he was member of Darlington Rural Council, and had been a county magistrate for the past seven years.
