Richard Woodruffe Townsend (c1866-1938) of R. Townsend and Co

Born the son of Richard Townsend, a Corn merchant.

1891 Residing at Thanet House, London Road, Stroud: Richard Townsend (age 52 born Fairford), Corn Dealer. With his wife Martha, son Richard Townsend (age 25 born Minchinhampton), Traveller for father, and three daughters.[1]

1895 Married at Gloucester to Esther Baker Driver

1911 Residing at Linstock Lodge, Bisley Road, Stroud: R. W. Townsend (age 45 born Minchinhampton), Manufacturer, Cattle cake. with his wife, two daughters and son Henry Harold Townsend (age 11). Also his sister.[2]

1938 Died. 'Mr. Richard Woodruffe Townsend, a former director of R. Townsend and Co., Ltd., cattle feed and cake manufacturers, of Stroud, a well-known sportsman and international bowler, died at his home, Linstock Lodge, Bisley-road, Stroud, after an illness of about two months' duration.'[3]
