Reuben William West (c1858-1933)

1933 Died. 'The funeral took place on Monday of Mr. Reuben William West, aged 75, whose death in a Sydenham nursing home occurred last seek Mr. West was well known to many Upper Norwood residents, as for more than 50 years he was superintendent of the mechanical department of the Crystal Palace School of Engineering. The burial took place in St. Mary's Cemetery Finchley, and Mr. Maurice Wilson (principal of the Crystal Palace School of Engineering), and Mr. F. C. Laurence (vice-principal) were among the mourners.'[1]
