Enterprise. No 38088. Built 1927. Reg No: DO 6883.

Enterprise was first known at the Lincolnshire show in 1927. It is believed to be the only Ransomes 8 nhp compound engine in existence today.

It was believed to have been kept on a village green before the late George Hawkins (Wyon Hawkin's father) bought it in the early 1980's.

In the early 1990's the back rubber tyres were fitted, these were originally fitted to the 'Iron Maiden'.

The Enterprise was put into storage on the death of George Hawkins, but purchased in September 2003 by Wyon and Kay Hawkins and family, and new tubes, tube plate, smoke box, chimney base and chimney have been fitted. Major boiler work has also been carried out including the fitting of a new fire box.[1]
