The company was formed in 1995 to acquire the business interests of the Rank Organisation which itself was formed out of the business interests of its founder, J. Arthur Rank.

1997 Rank sold its remaining holdings in Rank-Xerox[1]

1998 The company owned Odeon cinemas, Hard Rock Cafes, Universal Studios theme parks, Butlin's holiday camps and casinos[2]

2005 Disposed of Deluxe Film Services[3]

2008 The group consisted of 2 main businesses, one of which was Mecca Bingo[4]

The group focussed on its various gambling activities.
