RALPH T. HUGHES died on April 5, 1925, at Saltburn.

He was principal of the firm of Hughes, Bolckow & Co., Ltd., shipbreakers. The firm has large establishments on the Tyne and at Blyth, and has broken up some of the most famous battleships in the British Navy.

He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1912.
