"RALPH STANLEY GRIFFITHS was closely concerned with railway signalling during the whole of his long professional career.

He received his technical education at the Polytechnic, Regent Street, London, and was articled, in 1893, to the late Mr. William Griffiths, director and manager of the London office of Messrs. McKenzie and Holland, Ltd. On the conclusion of his training, four years later, he was employed by that firm as a draughtsman until 1901, when he was appointed superintendent of erection. After holding this position for some sixteen years, he joined the Westinghouse Brake and Signalling Company, Ltd., and remained with them as sales engineer until the close of his career. Mr. Griffiths was an Associate Member of the Institution for forty-four years, having been elected in 1904.

His death occurred on 15th June 1948, in his seventy-third year."
