Raine and Co (Sheerness)

From Graces Guide

1964 The building of the new mill (at Sheerness) involves the spending of about £2,500,000 and a new company — Raine and Co. (Sheerness) — has been formed.[1]

1964 The former proprietors of Raine and Co. had plans for a new steel works in the London area, and to further these plans,[2] William Firth Ltd and Empire Rib became joint owners of Raine and Co (Sheerness)[3].

1967 Raine and Co. (Sheerness) Ltd. — formed with a great banging of drums and sounding of alarums — has folded its tent and crept away in the night.[4]

1978 At an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held at Gordon Works, Valley Road, Sheffield, S8 9FW, on 21st March 1978, a Special Resolution was duly passed: That the Company be wound up voluntarily, and ... a Liquidator be appointed." [5]
