1867 Pullman's Palace Car Co. was incorporated
1873 George Pullman entered an operating contract with the Midland Railway. Six coaches were built at his Detroit shops and shipped disassembled in 1874. This venture was unsuccessful as the demand for the coaches was not great.
1877 Pullman coaches were introduced on the Brighton Line, before a complete train of this stock in 1881.
1892 The Pullman Company Ltd was formed in Britain based on the Pullman concept of luxury rail travel in the United States, established under US licence and control.
1899 Absorption of another concern.
1905 The business was transferred to UK control under the chairmanship of Davison Dalziel
1915 The company was re-founded as the Pullman Car Co Limited.
