The firm had been bringing ivory, ebony and shagreen to England since the days of Charles II.[1]

1932 A member of the Bowers family was still directing the business.

c.1965 The Kennington Lane premises were demolished
1993 HMRC petitioned to wind up the Company (of 10 Bloomsbury Street, London WC1)[5].
