1847 Premises for sale. 'formerly the Lime Works of Messrs. Poynder and Hobson, situate at Northfleet, in the county of Kent...These extensive and valuable premises occupy an area of upwards of 30 acres. On the north they are bounded by the river Thames, where there is a wharf with a sufficient depth of water for vessels of a heavy tonnage; and on the south by the road leading from London to Gravesend and Dover. They are now principally used by Messrs. Poynder and Medlicott for the mining on a large trade in chalk, gravel, and sand'[1]
