c1873 Powis, James and Co became Powis, James, Western and Co.

1876 Partnership change. '...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Jabus Stanley James, Charles Robert Western, and James Alston Carfrae, as Mechanical Engineers, under the firm of Powis, James, Western, and Company, at Victoria Works, Vine-street, and Belvedere-road, Lambeth, in the county of Surrey, has been this day dissolved by mutual consent, so far as regards the said Jabus Stanley James; and that the business will in future be carried on by the said Charles Robert Western and James Alston Carfrae alone, at Victoria-Works...'[1]

1876 Successor Western and Co specialised in wood-working and stone-working machinery; opened a branch in Derby where the firm built a large new factory.

1880 Max Western and Co, of Belvedere Road, Lambeth (stone moulding machine), presumably the business of Maximilian Richard Western

Presumably Victoria Works were later occupied by Anglo-American Brush Electric Light Corporation

By 1885 Western and Sons, were at 35 Essex Street, Strand, London, W.C.
