Pontnewynydd Sheet and Galvanising Co
1868 Pontnewynydd Iron Works of Trevethin was purchased by Partridge, Jones and Co from the lords and ladies of the manor of Wentsland and Bryngwyn.
1895 John Paton became one of the principal shareholders in the newly formed Pontnewynydd Sheet and Galvanising Co Ltd., with William B. Partridge and Edward Jones.
1909 Paton joined the board of Partridge, Jones and Co when William Partridge died.
1914 Paton was owner of the Caerleon Works and agent of Abertillery Works Ltd., on the board of Pontypool Works Ltd., and Henry White and Co, and had a sizeable interest in the Monmouthshire Steel and Tinplate Works, Pontnewynydd Sheet Works and Crumlin Valley Collieries.
1920 Amalgamation of John Paton's interests with those of Partridge, Jones and Co Ltd to form Partridge, Jones and John Paton; the new company also included Pontnewynydd Sheet and Galvanising Co Ltd. and other subsidiaries.
